Petite Pratique pour les Missionnaires
The following content is a prototype of micro lessons designed to showcase my skills in building language acquisition learning content in an online or blended modality. These brief lessons are targeted towards novice to intermediate learners who are currently living in a language-immersed environment. The lessons are task-based, and are intended to be part of a self-structured learning plan. As such, reflection and self-evaluation exercises are embedded throughout the lessons.

Leçon 1: L'introduction dans le parc
This lesson is designed to build confidence as you practice skills needed to approach people in a common setting: the park.
- Step 1: Listen to and practice vocabulary
- Step 2: View and interact with video content
- Step 3: Practice speaking
- Step 4: Reflect and set goals
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
In this lesson, you will learn to appropriately approach a person in a public setting and start a conversation using excuser or pardonner.
You will also learn to converse about common interests by asking questions using the verb aimer.
Watch the video example below.
Vous parlez

As you are walking in the park, you see a woman reading a book. What are some sentences you can use to converse with her? Practice the following sentences by:
- Listening to the audio.
- Repeating the sentences.
- Recording and listening to your own voice.
- Identifying the sentence structure.
Use the voice recorder to practice saying the sentences. Listen to your voice and notice how you can improve.
Hello ma’am, excuse me, what book is that?
What are you reading?
I like to read. Do you also like to read?
Conclusion de la leçon
To complete this lesson, record yourself speaking and review your recording. Note how you can improve. Then write a reflection about what you have learned.
